Comparison reflects each platform’s publicly published standard terms as of August 2026. The $9.99 row assumes a 2 MB ebook and no promotional discounting: Qityol pays 80% of the amount left after payment processing; Amazon pays 70% after its $0.15/MB delivery fee; Apple pays a flat 70%. Amazon widened its 70% band to $12.99 in July 2026, though titles above $9.99 stay on 35% until the author opts in by hand. Amazon audiobooks run through ACX (50% exclusive, 30% non-exclusive since April 2026), not KDP, and KDP Select requires 90 days of digital exclusivity. Apple pays 70% on audiobooks, but indie titles reach it through an aggregator that deducts its own fee first. Below roughly $1.09, Apple’s flat 70% pays an author more than we do — a fixed $0.30 payment-processing cost exceeds our entire margin at that point, and we already reduce our own cut to $0 as price drops toward there.
